Census Age Group Comparison between 2010 and 2000

Cattaraugus County's population is aging at a faster rate than that of New York State.
The median age of our population increased 8.8% from 37.4 in 2000 to 40.7 in 2010, while the median age of the New York State population increased 5.9% from 35.9 to 38.0.
Almost 45% of our County's population is age 45 and over, while that segment of the population for all of New York State is slightly over 40%.
